The San Ramon Chapel Preservation Committee is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit whose job is to maintain and preserve the chapel for future generations. You are probably familiar with San Ramon Chapel – the historic, little, wooden chapel that sits atop a hill in Sisquoc overlooking Foxen Canyon Road and the Santa Maria Valley. It was built in 1875 by Frederick Wickenden for his wife Ramona (Foxen) Wickenden and is No. 1 on the Santa Barbara County Historic Registry. You’ll recognize its logo on the masthead of the St. Louis de Montfort weekly bulletin. St. Louis de Montfort has long been a supporter of the chapel and its priests travel there each Sunday to serve Mass at 10:15 am. St. Louis uses the chapel as a destination for its pilgrimage walk. And many, many parishioners over the years have celebrated sacraments there and have loved ones buried in the cemetery. We love the relationship between the chapel St. Louis de Montfort – we are family! But, what you might not know, is that San Ramon Chapel is a private, independent chapel and is sustained solely through donations. We receive no funding from St. Louis de Montfort or the Archdiocese. We rely 100% on direct donations. Most of our income comes from the money in the basket at our 10:15 Mass and rentals of the chapel for weddings. Today, we are in need of a new roof. The current roof is over 25 years old. The new roof we are planning will cost approximately $43K and will last over 50 years. We are hoping you love and appreciate this historic chapel as much as we do; and that you will donate to our New Roof Fund Appeal. Your donation of any amount is truly appreciated!
